How would you write it?
How would you predict the future with your music?
This question speaks a lot of volumes. It heavily relies on your own interpretation, taste and creativity as the K-pop producer or writer.
I ask myself this question all the time when writing songs. It is hands down the hardest thing to do at this international level of competition!
I've found once you get to a point of being good producer, your focus moves instead towards infusing your songs with this intangible entity of "innovation". This need to reinvent constantly and create something that is fresh and new.
In my opinion it's about striking a balance something fresh and trending vs. something familiar. One extreme of either side will either alienate or bore listeners.
This is something I have found with AI, its amazing and I am excited for it but as it stands, it only creates something that has been done before. I feel we massively underestimate our own human brains and the endless creativity we have.
I feel AI will create a lot more mediocrity. Yes, competition will become even more savage. But at the same time, if you can keep innovating with your music, AI will always be copying you (check back in 5 years time tho haha)
I feel the value and demand for specialists and rockstars in their fields will only go up, keep going and innovating where you can!
What are thoughts on writing for K-Pop and predicting trends?
